About – Why Gaitz Memorials

Meet The Gaitz Memorials Family

Gaitz MemorialsSandy Gaitz, a third generation Jewish Houstonian, opened Gaitz Memorials to help people in need of Jewish headstones in his community. In 2004, Sandy’s previous Hebrew teacher at congregation Emanu El, Ida Wadler, saw an ad for Sandy’s sign company, 4D Signworx, in the Jewish Herald-Voice. Ida needed a headstone for her husband, Irving, and contacted Sandy about the ad. It was then that Sandy realized that headstones were just a different application of what he had been doing since 1968 and was happy to help her. It was then that Sandy realized there was a need for custom headstone design and production. With the encouragement of a number of rabbis and feedback from people in need, he began making memorials to help people honor their loved ones.

“Being Jewish helps me relate better and, hopefully, gives customers a feeling of being taken care of,” says Sandy, and this is a feeling that the entire team at Gaitz Memorials emphasizes: taking care of our customers. We provide outstanding service, excellent quality, and prompt timeframes for your monument needs.

Headstones & Monuments For The Houston Jewish Community

At Gaitz Memorials, our specialty is one-of-a-kind headstones and grave markers for cemeteries, gardens, or public locations. Our design consultant team includes custom memorial designers, graphic artists, sculptors, and other specialty craftspeople working in a state-of-the-art production facility. Each memorial design request is unique. We believe that each finished monument should reflect the person’s individuality in a special way.

We craft gorgeous headstones, cemetery markers, and monuments out of high grade granite or high quality bronze to help create an enduring memorialization for your loved one. Our priority is to provide you with something that will stand the test of time to honor the person. We understand how important a memorial is for you and those you love. We combine decades of experience with a dedication to quality to ensure you receive something extraordinary that provides lasting remembrance.

From headstone design to delivery, we work hard to make this process as easy as possible for you during this difficult time. We coordinate with synagogues, obtain Hebrew translations and approval from the rabbi, and secure approval of the stone design by working within the guidelines for each cemetery. We also obtain permission to place the stone from the cemetery committee and arrange for any curbing or foundation to be poured. We work closely with Ramirez Cemetery services for stone placement and other related cemetery work.

Our team takes care of everything for you during this difficult time to help lighten the burden on your shoulders. The only thing you need to worry about is contacting your synagogue to schedule your unveiling.

From the moment you contact us, you will be given our complete attention. We listen to you and provide guidance where needed. Our advisors help you select a memorial that is right for you and your loved one. Contact us today to learn more and get started designing a headstone or grave marker for your departed loved one. We are here to help.
